This is a something I must change. My anxiety doesn’t define who I am. Great point!

This is a great shift in the way I talk about anxiety. I always say I have anxiety, thinking about it as I am experiencing anxiety is a great shift in the way I see things and does make it seem less damning in a way, less concrete.

Thanks Drew!

Wonderful words of wisdom! I am guilt of saying I have anxiety however, I know from past experiences I can and will overcome anxiety as it is usually brought on by stressful situations that I need to deal with and process. I never tell medical professionals other than my counselor that I experience anxiety as they will document in chart and will view most things as “oh she’s having anxiety”. I have seen it too often as I work in the medical field. I agree Drew that many words do have power in our lives and it’s important to speak them in a different way. Thank you! Love you Big Guy!

Thanks Drew. It is subtle but you are right the narrative does make a difference. I didn't even realize it. I will work on changing that.

I hear that every day. That word ... "EXTREME". Everyone has "EXTREME" anxiety that's special and worse. Then you discover that it was no worse than anyone else's.
