Oh thank you for this article! But what if you struggle with meta fears so fear of thoughts themselves and how they make u feel. My negative experiences only seem to prove that its totally valid to fear your thoughts since life is not that enjoyable anymore.So time only proves anxietys points and fears of the own brain.
Being afraid of your fear is EXACTLY what we're always addressing here. It's not a special fear that requires a different approach. One of the keystones of recovery is the admission that being afraid without being harmed (because there is no harm) is NOT a negative experience. Its just an experience. Humans are capable of being afraid. We're designed to handle that. Calling it a nightmare and defending our response as justifiable keeps us stuck. Nobody is advocating going toward actual danger. We're only advocating a very effective (but difficult) way to learn that fear itself is NOT danger.
Drew absolutely love you! As I was listening to you speak on this topic it occurred to me, you can’t argue with a child or difficult spouse , parent etc you will never win! So why would we argue with ourselves? In examples above they are not listening and neither is ourself. Great revelation this morning. I grow a little bit more each time I listen to you. (Smiles)

This one REALLY spoke to me. Now I just need to try to learn not to argue with my brain and try and reason with the thoughts and prove them wrong!

I'm often reminded of equanimity and knowing that "this too shall pass" when I read your posts. A good reminder, at least for me!
