A little belated, but thank you! Love the video format. I've been working through your archive over the past month or so, and it has helped me a lot. A highlight for me towards the end: my scariest situation is not special or different than other feelings, or other people's feelings! There is no need for special tools or special words. Just keep going and have courage!

I've been looking out over my city and thinking how there are probably other anxious people out there, and we are all connected. The "neutral" people too.

Thank you again for all you do.

It makes such a difference too to get advice from someone who has gone through the anxiety struggles and truly understands! 👍🏼

Your description of depression is very good, you will know if you have it, there is no mistaking it. I also liked the description in Weekes book, it's like being in a field of flowers and not being able to see the flowers, not noticing they are there. Your emails are my fav. Thanks for what you do, you are helping the hopeless have hope.

You probably hear this all the time but the work you do is life changing for people struggling with anxiety. This was one of the best sessions yet. Please keep up the great work.

I'm surprised you haven't read Feeling Good yet. The cognitive distortions he lists helped me with the overall, "Just thinking." reminder. I didn't need to do the distortion worksheet he gave in my book, or do jumping jacks when I was convinced I was ill, but it did help to understand where the thinking was going off the rails and feeding second fear.

Other than that, I think he pats himself on the back a lot.

Oh he sure does. And to be honest, the book is kinda full of second wave stuff about changing thoughts by reasoning with them. Much has changed since he wrote that book 40+ years ago. The concepts are really good. The execution is a bit dated and he does need to get over himself. LOL

Hello, and thank you. It was nice knowing that I’m not the only one wondering about these topics. It really got me thinking though if in the future these physical remedies will ever come to be or will they say, “yes they had it right back than”. Any who thanks for making me work weekend more enjoyable.

Thank you very much for all your effort. The approach to anxiety that you teach absolutely works even with the extreme fear in panic attacks. I lost my fear of panic attacks by sitting and simply observing my feelings and sensations. Accepting it all the best I could. And guess what, nothing terrible ever happened. Panic attacks do not scare me anymore. So, no more panic attacks. The trick in recovery is to experience as fully as you can in that moment the intense feelings and sensations you are having. They are very “uncomfortable” but not “dangerous”. But you must prove that to yourself and the only way is thru it. Took me long time to fully understand that. Are you familiar with Claire Weekes? She wrote several books back in the 1960’s on “nervous illness” espousing exactly the approach you teach. Thanks again.

If there is no Claire Weekes, there is no Anxious Morning or Anxious Truth. She was my first "teacher" way back in 1986! :-)

I am a big fan of Claire Weekes. I have given several of her books to friends suffering with anxiety. Drew recognizes her value. I clicked with his approach right away.

She was my first teacher also. Back in the early 1980’s I was having panic attacks. Did not know what to do. Happened to see one of Claire Weekes books in a book store and bought it. I followed her instructions on dealing with panic and lost my fear of them. A very wise woman.

Thanks for responding.

Thanks so much for making today's podcast. I am a mother helping my daughter through her journey, but I still so enjoy learning from you. Like many others, I start my mornings listening to "The Anxious Morning". You have a gift for being reassuring and teaching in an easy to understand and direct way. Your help was the first step towards my daughter working on recovery and I am grateful for all that you do to help so many.
