Pragmatic and sensible advice for these trying times. Very sadly as I listen to these words almost a year on from when Drew first wrote them in 2022, the war still rages on and the world seems an even more uncertain, scary place. So it’s more important than ever to be mindful of our thoughts/feelings/responses in support of our own mental health and those of others around us who also need valued support and encouragement.

This really resonated for me. I am getting too caught up in my fear of the fear! This helps me distance from the latter, and be gentle on myself for it.

Just another thing to add to the recovery process!!! I try not to go there and I try to just keep with the things I know I can something about!!! Thanks Drew. See you this afternoon!

Wonderful podcast. It has been topsy turvy. Also your podcast and community is awesome.

Makes it a little harder to feel safe outside of your “safe place”, but I know it’s still important to still push and expand even though the world can be seen as a scarier place.

Wonderfully said Drew! I was just telling MR. yesterday that we ALL need a break. It’s been one disaster world wise after another. Thank you for reminding me to stop and recognize my thoughts and feelings. Love you Big Guy.

Ask yourself if you fear the war/outside event or if you fear what you are going to fell about it (I bet lots of us would choose the second option). What a way to differentiate excessive anxiety versus normal threat response. 💪🏼💪🏼🙏🏼
